The hunt for the next big thing in comedy is on! Join us for a high-stakes night of laughter as six elite comics from across the circuit battle it out for the 2026 title. This competition is open to all, bringing a diverse mix of styles and perspectives to the Colchester stage.
The finalists will have to prove they are the full package across two high-pressure rounds:
The Stand-Up Showdown: Each act has just 5 minutes to deliver their sharpest, most killer material to win over the room.
The Improv Gauntlet:
In the second half, the comics go head-to-head in a series of Mock the Week-style games. Expect quick-fire rants, “Scenes We’d Like to See,” and plenty of spontaneous chaos.
Your Host: Louie Green
Guiding you through the carnage is the incomparable Louie Green. Known for his effortless charm and razor-sharp crowd work, Louie is the perfect ringmaster to keep the energy high and the comedians on their toes.
