Twm Live is thrilled to present The Snuff’s new acoustic show, live at Three Wise Mobekys Colchester on January 28th
Now, let’s dive into the incredible journey of Snuff. Originally formed in N.W. London in 1986 as a three-piece band, Snuff consists of Duncan Redmonds on drums and vocals, Simon Wells on guitar and vocals, and Andrew Crighton on bass.
Their early days were filled with few gigs until 1988 when offers started pouring in. Everything changed when legendary DJ John Peel invited them for a session after witnessing their performance with Heresy and Rose Rose at the Sir George Robey in Finsbury Park.
Their debut 7″ single was released on Worker’s Playtime, followed by a full-length album known as “Snuff Said.” was accompanied by extensive touring in the UK and Europe.
Afterward, they recorded the mini-album “Flibbiddydibbidydob” with Dave Redmonds joining on trombone, both in the studio and live. The band continued touring, including trips to East Berlin, Poland, and the USA. Eventually, Snuff disbanded in August 1991 after a memorable gig at the National Ballroom in Kilburn.
However, in 1994, Duncan, Simon, and Andy reunited the band, now joined by Lee Murphy on Hammond organ. After considering a name change, they decided to stick with the original name, Snuff, at the urging of Fat Mike. The band’s lineup changed over time, with Loz Wong replacing Simon Wells on guitar.
Snuff’s discography includes albums like “Demmamussabebonk,” “Reach,” “Tweet Tweet My Lovely,” “Numbnuts,” and “Disposable Income.” They have toured extensively, performing in countries like Japan, Australia, Germany, and the USA.
In 2019, Snuff released their latest album, “There’s A Lot of It About,” and in 2020, they followed up with the EP “The Wrath of Thoth.” They have recently been recording a new album set for release in 2022, and their music can be found on Spotify.
We are thrilled to announce that the Snuff acoustic tour show will be supported by the amazing Pet Needs, who will be performing a special acoustic set. We couldn’t be happier to have these talented musicians on the bill, alongside punk legends.
Just to add to the nostalgia, Petneeds and Snuff actually played together at Brixton on September 25th, 2022. To keep the memories alive, we’ve even hired Liam, the same sound engineer who worked at the Brixton show.
Join us at Three Wise Monkeys on Sunday, January 28th, for an unforgettable night of acoustic punk rock. Get ready to be blown away by the incredible performances and relive the magic of that legendary Brixton show!
