THE PRETTIEST STARMAN LIVE

10 January at 19:30

Ends at 23:45

“Something happened on the day he died…”

On the 9th anniversary of David’s death, THE PRETTIEST STARMAN will once again be bringing their classic 70s Bowie show to The Three Wise Monkey in Colchester.

The band have been helping to keep his music and memory alive since 2016, performing faithful acoustic versions of singles and album tracks from his golden years (1969-1975). For these shows, THE PRETTIEST STARMAN’s usual line-up of ANTON PACE (lead vocals, 12-string guitar, saxophone), CARA BRUNS (piano, vocals), PAUL RUTTERFORD (guitar, vocals) and NELSON NICE (bass, guitar, vocals) will be joined by Sudbury’s brilliant LINCOLN GROUNDS who will be adding his much-admired guitar virtuosity to these truly great songs.

Sell-out shows at Colchester and Norwich Arts Centres, Three Wise Monkeys in Colchester, a couple of Bowie weekenders in Blackpool and, earlier this year, a performance at Sudbury Arts Centre have been enthusiastically received by all who managed to attend. In fact, the shows usually sell out, so if you think this is for you, we’d recommend getting your tickets early – avoid the unholy scramble for tickets that happens every year in the days leading up to the gigs.

At this next show, the band will once again perform some of his best-loved songs from Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Station to Station and Lodger.

Please don’t come along expecting to see a looky-likey band – THE PRETTIEST STARMAN is just a group of friends and massive fans of David Bowie, joyously performing some of his greatest songs with love and passion. Singing along is actively encouraged. The songs are the stars of this show, not the individuals on stage. If all the previous TPS shows are anything to go by, this will be a brilliant and unmissable night.

So come along, sing your hearts out, dress up if that’s your thing – but mainly, just get here!

Let’s remember this brilliant, much-loved artiste together. As if we could ever forget.

“We could steal time just for one day…”
